Radio comes alive with Digital
Having delivered a successful identity for the Digital TV switchover programme in 2006, we were asked to create a new brand identity for Digital Radio UK, the body set up to develop and accelerate the takeup of digital radio, working with broadcasters, Government, manufacturers, retailers and other stakeholders.
The identity is used across a phased campaign which launched at the beginning of December. The aim of the first phase is to promote digital radio across all platforms.
We designed a logotype and graphic property which visualizes soundwaves and uses a vibrant green as the brand colour, ensuring the identity stands out and is modern and friendly.
Phase 2 will see a Government-owned certification mark which will be an evolution of the digital TV switchover mark. This mark will be accredited to licenced digital radio products, services and in-vehicle digital radio installers.
The communications campaign has been developed by Digital Radio UK, the BBC with Y&R/RKCR and launched across BBC TV, BBC radio, commercial radio stations, press, magazines and online.
