Lambie-Nairn scores UEFA Euro 2012
We’re very excited to announce that UEFA has appointed us to develop a comprehensive broadcast identity toolkit for the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship, a key element in extending the promotion and visibility of the competition and brand.
With a vision to create an enduring legacy for European football, the essence of UEFA EURO 2012 will be captured on screen through dynamic and innovative sequences that communicate the spirit of achievement and competition between Europe’s finest national football teams.
Each official broadcast rights holder will be supplied with opening, closing and break bumper sequences as well as on-screen match graphics to use in the tournament itself, as well as at the final draw later this year.
Adrian Burton explains: “Fans across the world are looking forward to the tournament, so it is critical to create a concept that excites them, whilst at the same time building a sense of anticipation. A coherent and consistent broadcast concept across all markets will create a recognisable identity that a competition of this stature deserves.”
We beat off competition from five other agencies to win the work and the new broadcast identity and toolkit is expected to be delivered by the close of summer this year.
Peter Willems, Head of Marketing Activities at UEFA, said: “The UEFA European Football Championship is a truly global event, watched by millions of fans in Europe, and right across the world. We wanted a creative concept that illustrated the huge passion and rivalry yet also the sense of unity that national team competition football provides. In their pitch, Lambie-Nairn illustrated that brilliantly.”
The final draw for UEFA EURO 2012 takes places on the 2nd of December 2011. The tournament kicks-off on the 8th of June 2012.
