Wellbeing of Women

Raising awareness with a little mischief

Wellbeing of Women is the oldest women’s health charity in the UK, embracing a wide breadth of women’s health concerns and funding medical research to develop treatments and support specialist training. The Music & Mischief in the Garden event was to create awareness for the charity and raise considerable funds. The aim was to create a desirable ‘must-attend’ event to attract high-net worth individuals and a new younger generation of supporters.

The creative concept was based around the theme of the musicians, contemporary dancers and flamboyant acts that were to entertain the guests. Combining the idea of ‘musical’ creatures and garden scenery we created a delicate illustration style with an element of discovery – things aren’t always what they seem! It was important to achieve the right level of mischief rather than overt ‘sexiness’.

The solution needed to be elegant and sophisticated, fit with the Wellbeing of Women branding and work across a full range of applications. This included invitations, tickets, brochure, website, projections and environment. The Floral Hall at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden was transformed on the evening into an exotic paradise and the illustrations were projected around the room to integrate the creative theme and deliver a magical garden atmosphere.

Over 400 people attended, of which 80% were new to the charity and Wellbeing of Women events. The event raised over £200,000. All the money raised by the event was used to fund pioneering medical research and due to the huge success of the event, Music and Mischief in the Garden 2 is being planned for September 2013.
