Think Big Refresh

Putting young people centre stage

Think Big is Telefónica’s social enterprise programme giving young people the digital and entrepreneurial skills they need to get their innovative ideas off the ground and turn them into successful social projects.

2015 marked the 10,000th Think Big project and it felt like a good time for a creative update. We were commissioned to refresh the programme’s identity to better reflect its core values and to inspire more young people to get involved.

We quickly realised that the successful projects were what made Think Big unique and appealing to prospective new entrepreneurs. When refreshing the visual identity, we wanted to put young people and their stories center stage – more than that, we wanted them to get involved. So, we organized a Creative Invite on Talenthouse to give young people the chance to tell the stories of their peers: an identity for the youth, by the youth.

A simple logo was created integrating the arrow pointing up as a metaphor for thinking big/outside the box. This in turn created the frame, which is used as a platform to tell different project stories.

As the stories change, the identity will evolve to showcase new projects; at the same time the frame lends consistency to this dynamic brand. The identity included an updated colour palette, a new typestyle, photography and doodled illustrations based on 6 of the most recent successful projects.
