‘Text Santa’, a new charity initiative from ITV, aims to raise awareness and money for those most vulnerable during the festive period and appeals to the public to raise money via text donation.
Two entertainment specials, to be aired in December, will feature the network’s biggest names, along with star guests – all spreading Christmas cheer in suitably spectacular style. ‘Text Santa: The launch’, hosted by Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley, will air after the X-Factor Final on Sunday 11th December, whilst Ant & Dec and Holly Willoughby will host the ‘Text Santa show’ on Christmas Eve.
Our task was to develop an iconic brand identity to embody this new initiative and a suite of visual assets to support ITV’s unique campaign both on and off air.
The identity included the creation of a logotype and family of loveable characters named ‘Santa’s little helpers’, each with their own personalities and character traits. Aardman (the animation house behind Morph and Wallace and Gromit) were appointed to bring the characters to life.
We created new brand elements including logo, character set and environments for use off air to support the campaign. Guidelines were developed to provide visual identity specifications, from logo and colour palette through to full character assets and descriptions.Download PDF
